Meaning “good year” in Italian, the phrase “Bon Anno”, heralds the celebration of good times, and is a fortuitous play on vintner Matt Bonanno’s last name. Since the first release in 2004, BonAnno wines are consistently fruit forward, juicy, ripe and well-balanced. Crafted from high-quality vineyard plots in what is know as the “tenderloin” in Alexander Valley. The tenderloin is regarded one of the best places to grow Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma county. Our wine is carefully aged to enhance its unique characteristics and bring out its complex notes of dark fruit, vanilla, and oak.
The 2022 harvest was very high quality across all of California. Due to the ongoing drought conditions, yields were again slightly lower. The year was not without challenges, but the vintage to produced memorable white wines of great concentration and complexity.
Renowned winemaker, Jim Milone, crafts, blends and bottles Matthew Fritz in
Healdsburg, Sonoma County. Jim grew up in the vineyards of his
grandfather’s winery in Mendocino County and currently lives in Northern
Sonoma. His excellent relationships with wineries and growers throughout the
North Coast of California are invaluable to our vineyard sourcing.
Deep ruby color, fresh with layered dark fruits, blackberry, black raspberry, cedar, allspice, cinnamon and hints of vanilla. The palate is elegant with many layers that lead to a long finish with fresh fruit and lively acidity. Crafted to be enjoyed upon release, this wine will also stand the test of time for those who can wait.
