Founded by vintner and entrepreneur Matthew Bonanna, Matthew Fritz is the companion wines to his Napa Valley flagship, BonAnno Cabernet Sauvignon. Matthew Fritz was founded on a few simple principles; seek out and source from top North Coast vineyards, let the fruit stand on its own through pure, clean winemaking process. And ultimately, ensure every bottle of Matthew Fritz is a true representation of both the variety and appellation.

2021 was a dry vintage in Northern California leading to smaller fruit clusters packed with concentrated flavors

Fruit for this wine was sourced from prime vineyards within Sonoma County and Mendocino AVA’s.

Winemaker
Renowned winemaker, Jim Milone, crafts, blends and bottles Matthew Fritz in Healdsburg, Sonoma County. Jim grew up in the vineyards of his grandfather’s winery in Mendocino County and currently lives in Northern Sonoma. His excellent relationships with wineries and growers throughout the North Coast of California are invaluable to our vineyard sourcing.

Tasting Notes
The 2021 is fresh with dark cherry, black raspberry, blackberry, bell pepper, and cedar. The palate is lively with mouth-watering acidity from the layered dark fruit, and firm tannins add a long textured finish.

Composition: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot
Ageing: 10 months in French oak
Alcohol: 14.1%
