Matthew Fritz
2022 Pinot Noir
Santa Lucia Highlands
Tasting Notes
The wine is a medium ruby with aromas of violets, clove, and fresh dark cherries. The palate elegant, textured and filled with ripe raspberry and cherry flavors with hints of mushroom and black tea.The finish has mouthwatering acidity and medium tannin.
Vintage
The 2022 harvest was hailed as “off the charts” by several growers and winemakers in California. Due to the ongoing drought conditions, yields were again slightly lower but created a smaller harvest with greater intensity. Despite the challenges, this vintage has produced memorable pinot noirs of great concentration and complexity.
Vineyard
Grapes for this 2022 Pinot Noir were sourced from premium vineyards within the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey.
