Matthew Fritz
2022 Pinot Noir

About Matthew Fritz
Founded by winemaker and entrepreneur Matthew Bonnano, Matthew Fritz
wines are companion wines to his Napa Valley flagship Cabernet Sauvignon
BonAnno. Matthew Fritz was founded on a few simple principles: Seek out and
source fruit from top North Coast vineyards, let the fruit stand on its own
through a pure, clean winemaking process, and ultimately, ensure every bottle
is a true representation of both the variety and appellation.

Vintage
The 2022 harvest was hailed as “off the charts” by several growers and winemakers in California. Due to the ongoing drought conditions, yields were again slightly lower but created a smaller harvest with greater intensity. Despite the challenges, this vintage has produced memorable pinot noirs of great concentration and complexity

Vineyard
Grapes for this 2022 Pinot Noir were sourced from premium vineyards within the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey.

Winemaker
Renowned winemaker, Jim Milone, crafts, blends and bottles Matthew Fritz in
Healdsburg, Sonoma County. Jim grew up in the vineyards of his
grandfather’s winery in Mendocino County and currently lives in Northern
Sonoma. His excellent relationships with wineries and growers throughout the
North Coast of California are invaluable to our vineyard sourcing.

Winemaker Notes
The wine is a medium ruby with aromas of violets, clove, and fresh dark cherries. The palate elegant, textured and filled with ripe raspberry and cherry flavors with hints of mushroom and black tea. The finish has mouthwatering acidity and medium tannin.
