For lovers of the quintessential Merlot grape, the wine is ripe, jammy and perfectly balanced. Classic cocoa and ripe red fruits on the nose with hints of bing cherry and baking spices. Lucious, velvety and fresh with a silky finish.

Vintage

2021 was a dry vintage in Northern California leading to smaller fruit clusters packed with concentrated flavors.

Vineyard

The 2021 Mathew Fritz Merlot was sourced from premium vineyard sites in the North Coast.

Winemaker

Renowned winemaker, Jim Milone, crafts, blends and bottles Matthew Fritz in Healdsburg, Sonoma County. Jim grew up in the vineyards of his grandfather’s winery in Mendocino County and currently lives in Northern Sonoma.  His excellent relationships with wineries and growers throughout the North Coast of California are invaluable to our vineyard sourcing.
